Carbon Offsetting
& Sustainability

We’re always looking for new ways to make Homestead Coffee Co as sustainable as possible because, let’s be honest, the coffee process (from green to roasted bean) is not a carbon efficient one. So we believe it’s our responsibility to do the best we can to make ourselves as close to carbon neutral as possible.

For us, being carbon neutral involves many things, from carbon offsetting to using recyclable materials wherever we can. Our goal is to never be wasteful; that includes ensuring that we use materials that we have previously purchased that aren’t recyclable or biodegradable. We will always use what we have before ordering more product - from there, we’ll then focus on sourcing a recyclable or more sustainable alternative. We only use fully recyclable coffee bags across our entire range, a big step in the right direction for a small coffee business. We’re extremely proud to be an ethical coffee supplier.

There are many carbon offsetting opportunities our there, but we decided to go with Carbon Footprint. Carbon Footprint believe that climate change will only be addressed if individuals, businesses and government organisations all takes responsible steps to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible and then offset the remaining unavoidable emissions.

Plant a Tree - Protect a Tree

We support a Carbon Footprint project that helps local communities in the Great Rift Valley, Kenya through their tree planting initiative. The incredible Kenya Reforestation project aims to plant 100,000's of indigenous trees on the worst degraded areas.
